Replacing side view mirrors can seem daunting, but with the right tools and instructions, it's a manageable DIY task for many vehicle owners.

Begin by sourcing a replacement mirror that matches the make and model of your automobile or pickup truck.

Next, remove the old mirror by carefully detaching the mounting hardware and disconnecting any electrical connections.

Then, install the new mirror by reversing the removal process, ensuring a secure fit.

Finally, test the new mirror to verify proper functionality.

Following these steps can save drivers time and money compared to professional installation services.

If your door mirror is power operated you may need to remove your door panel. If your mirror is manual operated (non-powered) you should be able to switch out your mirror through the triangle trim panel.

Next follow the power cable from the mirror and dis-connect the power cord.

Remove the screws that hold the mirror to the door. Attach your new mirror and connect the power cable. Be sure to test your mirror function before putting the panel or door trim back together.

Will you need to paint your new mirror?
If you choose to paint it yourself, you can find the paint code (generally) located on a white sticker on the inside of the Driver door (could also be located in your glove box). Your local auto parts store will be able to acquire the aerosol paint in the color you need.

Tape off the glass and parts you do not need to paint. Some mirrors have only the back cap that is painted to match the vehicle.

Lightly wet sand with 400 grit sandpaper. Approximately 4-5 light coats of paint will result in a nice finish. Along with our aftermarket Mirrors, the painting process is also a great cost savings compared to your local dealer or body shop.
