Outside door mirrors have come a long way since referred to as a wing mirror. We have listed some of the most common features.

Smooth = Paint to Match
This replacement automotive Mirror can be painted by purchaser if desired, or installed as is. If you choose to paint it yourself, you can find the paint code (generally) located on a white sticker on the inside of the Driver door (could also be located in your glove box). Lightly wet sand with 400 grit sandpaper. Approximately 4-5 light coats of paint will result in a nice finish. Along with our aftermarket Mirrors, the painting process is also a great cost savings compared to your local dealer.

Textured Finish
This is a textured finish, similar to leather and is not meant to be painted, install as is.

Puddle Light / Approach Light

MEMORY FEATURE
When set, for Driver #1, Driver #2 -The seat, steering wheel, and electric mirrors adjust to the driver according to the Key Fob. The majority of cars that have mirrors with memory also have heat, which often means that they have a six (or more) wire connector.

Blind spot warning (BSW) systems use cameras, radar, and/or ultrasonic sensors alongside your vehicle to detect vehicles you can't see that are next to or behind your car. If a vehicle is detected there, drivers get a visual warning, often in the outboard mirrors, or on the front pillars

Active Blind Spot Assist uses a collection of sensors and/or cameras to constantly monitor an area of up to 10 feet behind and immediately adjacent to your vehicle. In the event that a vehicle is detected within the blind spot area, a red triangle warning indicator appears in the corresponding exterior side mirror.

Auto dimming side view door mirror
The mirror itself is chemically treated to dim with a bright light behind you. Fluid is between the mirror and clear glass to accomplish that.

*Features on an Extendable Tow Style Mirror (2003-2013)
If you currently have the standard smaller mirrors, you can add HD tow mirrors on Model Years 2003-2013 without modifications, including upgrading to signals in the glass or housing even if you did not have them before. Our tow mirrors are built to be “Plug and Play”, meaning if you do not currently have signals in your standard mirrors, you can upgrade without any modifications. Starting in model year 2003 GM used the same wiring harness for all mirrors regardless of features on the specific vehicle being built on the assembly line.

Power folding - SYNCHRONIZE PROCESS:
*NOTE: This procedure must be performed any time the power folding mirrors are manually folded IN or OUT, or without using the mirror control switch.  It may be necessary to cycle the power folding mirrors IN and OUT up to 4 times before they are synchronized.
 
1. Set the mirror control switch to the CENTER position.
2. Use the mirror control switch (press rearward) to automatically cycle the power folding mirrors IN and OUT 4 times.
3. When an audible popping sounds is heard, the power folding mirror motors are synchronized.
 
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: If the power folding mirrors are folded or unfolded continuously (6 to 10 cycles), the power lockout feature will disable the system for 2 minutes to prevent damage to the power fold motors. After 2 minutes have elapsed, normal operation will resume
